Music

So what does everyone use for background music while they write?

I tend to have a few 'generic' rock songs for writing in the WoD, but I don't really have any character specific music. I've been debating a playlist for each PC (again).

What about everyone else?

Usually I just have background noise from the train, as I post most of the time from my smartphone (the reason for those horrible, horrible uppercase words in the middle of a sentence) ^^".
Otherwise, I like to play things like Caspian (post-rock), e.g. Ghosts of the Garden City, usually.
Or Vampire - the Masquerade: Bloodlines OST xD

Never thought about PC specific music, I tend more towards different songs (or genres) for different settings, e.g. Vampire (generally more gothic) and Changeling (generally more like ballads).
But my experience is rather limited as of now ^^"

PS.: Always wanted to give the Mood Music lists by Onyx Path a try. What do you guys say?

I have a playlist on iTunes for each PC full of songs that fit the various aspects of their personalities. For example Gabriella's features a lot of stuff from the 60s, 70s and early 80s including Blondie, The Ramones, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Clash.

Roll20 actually uses a jukebox mechanism. You could possibly mimic the function somehow.

I found a few songs that I think sound rather Changeling-ish, and wanted to hear your opinion on:
The feeling of the song in general was what I liked- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa4xOXmmkjs
This one has some of the wonder-atmosphere, but is also kinda technological. Had to think of a tinkering Wizened. Name of the song is a bonus =D - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obS09VerQig
And this one has nostalgia, wonder, mystery and a dose of creepiness - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0T6JFv ... E1&index=2

Interesting. For me it seems to work the otherway around. When I write, music tends to come to my mind; though if I listen to a song, I can't think of words to write. I usually use a song to kick my brain into the mood of a post. It sounds interesting and fun to make a playlist for a character though.

Oy, let's make an "Guess the Character"-thread! :cheesy
You make a playlist, and people have to write down which character they think it is (does not have to be your's, could be someone elses.)
Would be fun to see how differently we see our characters and/or music =D

Would be interesting lol. We have a small enough group to do it for certain.
