"Classic, as far as ghost stories go. Love lasting through death, Binding the spectres to this realm. The lack of family names is probably intended to make investigations harder, but could also be due to being forgotten with the Passage of time, should it be real. I doubt it, however. Seems too much like something people would love to believe in. What would you say, Mr Garret?" he said, quizzically lifting one eyebrow with a smile. He was curious about this young looking man ' s judgement .

"Yeah this smells of an urban legend. It doesn't even say a time period, though I suppose its going to be like the 1800''s because of the duels. "

He glances at the email addresses that they were sent to. He would have to see if someone with more interest in computers could find one of them. He notes the most prolific responder if there is one. Then in one slick movement he tucks the paper into his pants.

"Anything else you can tell us to help?" he addresses the room.

"Actually yes. The story is true and according to Sworn Sinclair the location is haunted. So that might complicate things a bit."

Jeremy raised an eyebrow."How peculiar. This indeed raises some questions. And a few additional challenges. On the other hand, at least we know whoever is spreading these rumours is no slouch: He, she or they know exactly what they are doing. The propability for this being a coincidence is simply far too small... Hm..." Jeremy ended up lost in thought. Their opponent had real occult knowledge and was willing to breach it to mere mortals. This in itself was dangerous. But in Addition to the that, there was a political Level of machination. He wrote down "which covenants threatened? " and Circled it.
Ghosts. He had never interacted with ghosts before. He had a feeling that some knowledge in Auspex would be very useful in this case. His desire to learn it was stoked more than ever.

"So they are actually attempting to get people to investigate an actual haunted house. " He nods though the question lingers. He says it out loud. " Do we know anyone who would want to blow the masquerade open?"

"Then we should shut these rumours down quickly. However.... Just to be on the Safe side: we are certain that nobody is trying to outmaneuver his Rivale or attack another covenant with this, right? Or do we have to keep the possibility of an Insider job in mind?"

"The only people with the Occult knowledge to play this game within the Domain are in this Covenant or already crossed off the list. Neither of them are lying, something which has been verified twice. If this is just a prank, well it won't be so funny for the individual behind it when caught."

Jeremy looked grim. "Good."
He wrote some things down. Among them: "Main suspect: Forsworn. Activity meant to throw us into turmoil." and "Rumours based in at least one case on truth." as well as "read up on Spirits and Ghosts!" and " 'Satanic Orgies' does connect rather well with Forsworn, could it be that some still linger in Van Cortland Park?"
"So, our most likely perpetrators are Foresworn, either taking some sort of Revenge for liberating the area or trying to distract us, or both. On the other hand, if all these rumours turn out true, it could be 'merely' a very investigative, curious and talented occultist." He sighed and said "Irrelevant at the moment. For now, we have to act as damage control first and foremost."
He started making a list on another page, headlined "Equipment and Tools- collection of ideas" and started to write some things down.
Sulphuric acid, NaCl (pure), a bronze / a silver knife, Red and blue flower petals (dried), Matchsticks (good kind), rings,
smokeworks: incense,Benzoin resin, styrax balsam, Amber, dragon's blood resin, myrrh, Salvia divinorum, Thepelakano, Tonka beans.....
There were similar lists for gems, plants and oils.
He scratched his head and absentmindedly asked Garret: "Which Equipment do you think we need?"

"Should we?"

"Be nice."

Robert finally shrugged and reached into one of his pockets. He pulled out something small and in the shape of a card.

"Prepaid. Five thousand on it."

"Low quality? Would a high quality camerarecorder not work better?" Jeremy uttered suprisedly. " Do you have some Dragon's blood resin I could have? 24 g would be aplenty."

Jeremy nodded towards the next free table. "Let us sit down and go over things orderly. You Sound like you have some experience with work like this, am I correct in assuming you have a strategy?"
