The Group Slept, all three watch groups were quiet. This was the good type of quiet, not hedge quiet which usually meant something sinister was lurking. It was a further days trek through the hedge, before they arrived at the village.

Large Wooden Barricades with Spikes were set up around the entire village, the south side of the village saw Three of the Summer Court constructing the last section of Barricades. The Village had no more than 50 buildings, all made of wood with thatched roofs. In the center of the village stood the village hall, three stories with a clock tower. The clock face itself had three hands and 13 numbers around the face. It was nothing like a real world clock, the third hand certainly wasn't counting seconds.

In the village square was the village green, the Town hall was on one side and three large buildings resembling what could only be described as temples stood on the other three sides. One had small (Small to the changelings, large to the imps) beacons on the outside and banners with a flame symbol. The next temple had banners with a symbol of a fox. The final temple had some sort of black splodge on its banner. This was the smaller of the three and very few Imps seemed to be going in and out of it compared to the other two temples.

The other public buildings seemed to be some sort of food and resources storage. There was also a village pub. The rest were small cottages.

The Imps were small and so were the buildings. The largest building which was the Town Hall with the clock tower came up to stomach height of the group.

The outskirts of the village included within the barricade sat large tents which the existing Summers had been sleeping in. A platform had been built for the Imps to make it easier to talk to the changelings. It took the Imps up to roughly head height. Currently a group of three Imps were talking to Lady Esmerelda, The Spring Courts Sylvan Emissary.

The group made their way round the outside with the cart and in via an east entrance. The streets had enough room for them to walk down single file, the cart however would have demolished houses. As they arrived imps seemed to start coming out of houses and buildings to start cheering.

Firestorm started to remove some tents from the wagon. "Attacks down here tend to come in waves. I need to catch up with the others to see if anythings changed. As I am sure you can see, one of these things getting past the barriers would level the entire village so we can't let that happen. Mission Priority is to defend the Village however.... if we can find where they are coming from or who seems to be sending them then its a bonus and we can launch a surprise attack."

"As for the Imps.... Watch out. They may be small but they are not totally defenseless."

Emmett nodded, "We need to know the estimated pattern for the attacks. What time frame would be good. If they always attack from the same direction, with the same hedge beasts, we can track from there. And if we know how much time we have between waves, we could try pushing out the direction they came from. The Hedge might not change faster than we can track them. If we're lucky, they may even be using a Trod we don't know about."

Melody wanted to walk up to one of the houses for a closer look; to examine what must have seemed to her like rural looking doll houses. The imps gathering together and cheering seemed funny to her; almost hilarious; though she couldn’t place why she thought so. She was listening to what the others were saying, but the gravity of what they were talking about didn’t quite sink in. Attacks; waves; lucky; entire village; the only mental images her mind brought up were separate imaginings for each individual word; rather than painting it all together into the grim picture it was meant to portray.

It was not long before a faint rustling could be heard coming from an area of bushes to the east of their location. The rustle slowly got louder, accompanied by noises like something out of Jurassic Park. A low pitched rumble, the occasional hiss.

The Imps hearing the low rumble immediately started to panic and flee to the false safety of their homes. It was not long before 3 huge malevolent Crocodiles slowly made their way out the bushes. They moved towards the village, 2 meters before noticing something and changing course. A group of three imps were currently outside the village, running to try and get back.

The crocs continued to change direction, slowly picking up speed heading towards the pixies desperately trying to make their way back to the village. The other changelings who had been present in the village already took up position at the other ends of the village, either they had spotted something or they were taking position to ensure they were not attacked from behind whilst concentrating on the current threat.

Immediately rushing towards the pixies Melody left her feathered friend there. Not sure what spurred the sudden action, all she knew was that she needed to save them. She attempts to sweep the pixies into her arms and carry them towards the best chance at safety they have. The walled town.
