Finding a Voice (Reynard)

Post#1 » October 21st, 2015, 10:56 pm

Reynard's morning had started like any other, the usual routine for him. Various members of the spring court had kept checking on him, making sure he was okay over the past few weeks. Gradually the time between visits got longer and longer.

He had just been settling in to his morning coffee and bowl full of regret when a piece of paper slid under the door.

Renyard sighed, glaring over his coffee which was more milk and sugar than bean juice. He slid the bowl of shepard's pie away, which jiggled slightly, and put the ketchup he had been about to spread liberally over it down. The fox frumpily gathered himself up and walked over to grab it.

He didn't open it right away instead looking it over carefully for anthrax, or magical fairy sleep powder or what ever assassins were using these days.

Anthrax there was none and was an equal amount of fairy sleep powder. As far as he could tell it was just a normal piece of paper folded in half with the name Reynard written on the front piece.

Reynard opens the strange pice of paper, wondering why the person writing him couldn't use proper postage.

Reynard
I stumbled across some information of an item that once belonged to you. Your voice box passed through The New York Stock Exchange around 6 weeks ago. It was sold to a trader called Widow Mactan.

I hope this helps

Reynard stares for a moment at the paper then breaths out, rereading just to make sure he hadn't missed anything. He then quietly cleaned up, grabbed his phone and considered who, if anyone, he wanted to tell where he was going/

Spring Policy was that you told Morning star or Todd what you were up to if it potentially involved a situation where you could go missing. Between the two of them they generally kept tabs on court members, checking up on them now and again to ensure everything was okay.

There was also Firestorm, things had been icy between the two for a while however they had actually started talking again at the Summer Corination.

Then there was the Summer Court who held the crown, although it was likely they would not care if Reynard went missing.

Three quick texts go out. The first two is a formal and quick run down of where he was going and why. The third though, the one to Firestorm was thought out.

Hey man, I am going to the goblin market. My voice box passed through there a while back and as annoying as it can be sometimes I really need my voice back. I was wondering if you could maybe back me up? You know I am hopeless in a fight.

Reynard doubted he would be willing, so he just keeps getting ready.

It was a few moments before the text came back.
Sorry Dude, After the EQ thing everyone has been pretty busy with wrap up stuff.
Currently dealing with a few issues.

Looked like Reynard was alone on this one.

A quick text back with:

Alright, but if I am not in touch with someone in 24 hours send out the search parties. Or have a party :P

Fuck he hated himself.

With that he heads out the door and down to the marketplace.

The Stock Exchange was the most well known market on the east coast. Not only did it have public areas but it also had areas for traders to trade amongst each other. Hobs and changelings from far and wide came to buy, sell and even just browse. Reynard was able to get access into the stock market. The real world stock market had multiple trading halls, 30 to be exact. The goblin market version was more open plan and had not yet caught up to the modern day market. The public market was located over two floors, with multiple staircases leading up around the area. Many traders had set up stalls and were peddaling their wares.

The lobby had a new feature, a set of stairs that led down to the basement a sign above them announcing it to be the "Goblin Rail"

The market was in full swing, various traders calling out at passers by advertising their goods and wares.

Reynard glanced around for a help desk of some kind. He needed to get directions through this mess.

A help desk at the Goblin Market... Reynard was hoping for too much. Goblin Markets were rather like the exotic markets in places like Morocco or the Indian Spice Markets.... lots of stalls, lots of different traders. The only thing that remotely resembled a help desk was a stall in the lobby area that was selling Goblin Rail tickets and even then it was unlikely they would point him in the right direction.

Sadly this was the nature of the hedge. Occasionally it moved with the times, the issue being that the times were about 100 years behind.

There was however a sign with a map of the Goblin Market pointing the way to various different areas. (Public Market, Traders only Market, Market Administration, Warehouses, Goblin Rail, Lobby & Loading Docks)

Reynard shook his head and moves off towards the public market. For the moment he would ask around, though he was well aware it would cost him something. Not that he has much to give.

The Market was in full swing, most of the customers were hobs with the occasional changeling wondering round. Various market traders called out offering their wares.
